When will my item ship?  When can I expect to get it?

We ship out items 6 days a week, Mon-Sat, every day of the year that the post office is open.  We send out shipments every morning of those days.  Therefore, if you place an order during the day, it will be shipped out the following morning that the post office is open for business.  Guaranteed.  Most items will reach their US location within 1 week, and 2 weeks for international locations.  However, please recognize the fact that the post office doesn't always cooperate with our terms!  Items get delayed, it does happen from time to time.  With that in mind, please wait 2 weeks for delivery for US orders, and 4 weeks for International orders, before you give up on it.  Your item will arrive, or we will replace it at our cost.

How much is shipping?  Can I get a deal on combined shipping?

Does your disk come with a retail box with artwork?

We do not believe in charging our customers an extra several dollars for a cheap plastic case or cheapo printed artwork.  We believe that customers purchase our items for one reason, the content.  We believe that is what motivates 99% of our purchases, that and great prices.  Therefore, in an effort to keep our costs down, and to provide great and interesting content, we decided to exclude shipping plastic cases and manufacturing retail boxes. 

How is this item shipped?

All of our CD's and DVD's shipped without plastic cases and retail boxes in plain mailer package designed for quick delivery and minimal weight.

Is shipping insured?  Do I need to buy insurance? What if my item gets lost?  What if it shows up broken?

There is no need to purchase insurance, or to ask for additional insurance.  All of our shipments are 100% self insured against loss or damage.  If your item does not arrive within the time noted above, or arrives broken, contact us and let us know about it.  We will send out a replacement, no questions asked.

When will I get my tracking number?

Again, our stated mission is to provide you with unique and interesting, and rare, content.  We do our best to service you with respect to the important things, without overwhelming you with needless services that you'll wind up paying for in hidden charges.  Therefore, to keep our shipping costs down, all of our items are shipped with out tracking numbers.  We do this at our own risk, and we take full responsibility for you receiving your order.  Again, if it is a no show, give it the time noted above, and then let us know.  We'll get you a replacement out right away.

Do you offer free shipping or combined shipping?

We offer combined shipping on everything.  All of our shipping prices are based on dollar amounts, not items shipped.  More details can be found here

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards through PayPal, as well as PayPal.

I don't have a PayPal account and don't want one, how can I pay with my credit card?

Go ahead and click on through the checkout process letting it select PayPal, then you will click "Confirm the order".  At that point in time it takes you to the PayPal page where you can choose to login and pay through PayPal, or just pay with your credit card without a PayPal account.  PayPal will simply process the payment in the background, but you will pay as though you paid with your credit card and you will not need to create an account through PayPal.  See this page for more info.

What is the return policy?

We guarantee all of our items to be in perfect working order.  Defective items can be exchanged for a replacement with 21 days of your purchase price.  In the event that you receive a damaged or defective item, it will be replaced with an identical item free of charge.  Please note, all DVD sales are final, DVD's cannot be return for a refund, but they will be replaced with the same DVD in the case you receive a damaged or defective DVD.  This is the same policy you will see at any retail DVD store, be it Walmart, Best Buy, or anywhere else.  You cannot buy a DVD and return it after watching it and get your money back!  If you receive a damaged or defective item, contact us with the details and we'll get you a new one right away!

Do you have sales?

Occasionally we will offer a sale on some items.  We don't have any planned sales, though.  The need for sales to move certain items is reviewed on a regular basis, and some sales do occur based on those reviews.  Keep in mind, we feel our prices are as competitive as it gets, and therefore, you get a great deal, year round, every day, on every product.

I saw the same item for less on someone else's website, can you match it?

YES!  Send us a link for that same product on someone else's website, and if it is an identical product, and it is selling for cheaper then our product factoring in both of our shipping charges, we will beat that price by 10%.  Note, that it has to be an identical product, sold as new, on someone else's website.  Someone selling the same item used on some auction site as a one time deal doesn't count! 

We do ask one thing.  Please pay attention to the details of their offer and our offer, and the details of the product.  If it truly is a better deal on an identical product, we will honor our guarantee.  However, if you repeatedly send us links to examine for products that are "similar" but with some kind of catch, you will forfeit your discount.  This is meant as an honest to goodness guarantee to our customers that they are getting the best price, not an invitation to haggle using a similar product as evidence. 

How often is this site updated with new products?

All the time!  We try to put up new products every month!  Our catalog is always growing and we are always trying to find new products to add.  Please bookmark us and come back often.

Is this guaranteed to work on my DVD player?

All of our disks are region free, NTSC disks.  NTSC is the standard format in the United States and some other countries.  If you live in the United States, these disks are guaranteed to work on your DVD player.  If you live outside the USA, but have an NTSC DVD player, these DVD's are guaranteed to work for you.  If you have a PAL format DVD player, (some countries in Europe), you will not be able to view our DVD's.

Will this CD run on a Mac and a PC?

All of our CD's that contain software are for PC's only.  Our CD's that contain files only, such as PDF files, should work on a MAC.  Keep in mind, we are PC users with no MAC experience, so while we think our PDF file CD's will run on MAC's, we don't know much about them, therefore we don't guarantee compatibility.  If you know what you are doing with a MAC PC, you should know the answer.  Odds are, if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be buying.

Do I need any special software to run this item?

If special software is needed to run any of our programs or files, it is included on the disk, or in some cases, you are told where to go to get it, for free.  If any of our files require commercial software to run, this will be disclosed to you in the item listing.

Can I print the plans, books, items on my printer?

Absolutely.  As many times as you wish.

Am I allowed to copy and resell these items?

No.  Everything we sell is copyrighted by theclassicarchives.com.  Please see our copyright policy.

I'm really interested in this CD.  Can you tell me if there is a specific plan is included?  Can you tell me more about a specific type of file I am looking for?

We would love to help you out in this, but please put yourself in our shoes when you ask us a question like that.  We have a catalog of several hundred disks and DVD's and various items.  Some of our disks with plans on them contain hundreds, or perhaps thousands of plans.  Some of our disks with maps on them also contain hundreds or thousands of files.  While it may seem like a simple question to answer,  the fact is with the volume of products we sell, we don't have the contents of each one memorized.  It may require hours on our part of investigative work combing through files to see if a particular disk has a particular plan you are looking for.  With that in mind, consider if we get just 3 or 4 requests like this per day?  We simply are not in a position to do research of this time of magnitude on request, as we simply don't have the resources to.  In most cases, everything we know is already disclosed in the listing to the very best of our abilities.

Is this item in stock?

This website is maintained with real time inventory tracking tied to our system.  If its online, its in stock.  Guaranteed.

What is the quality of the movies on the DVD?

We think its good, but this is subjective.  In most cases, many of our movies are decades old, some over 50 years.  They may have been stored in poor conditions for decades.  Therefore, most of them do not have the "DVD" quality you've come to expect from modern day motion pictures.  Some do have that signature snap, crackle, and pop, on the films.  We think that adds to their charm.  In all cases, the films are watchable.  Films that are in extremely poor condition never make it to this website.

Do you sell my private data?  What about SPAM?

No, we sell you information to NO ONE.  We don't rent, share, distribute or do anything shady with your contact information.  We simply exist to run this business, and this business only, the best we can, and nothing more.  We don't associate with SPAMMERS, who we think are the lowest of the low on the internet.  We may, on very rare occasions, send out an email flyer to our past customers informing them of some of our new products.  But this is quite rare, as to be perfectly honest, we rarely have the time to even do that.  And when we do, you always have the option of sending us a polite note, one time and one time only, asking to be removed from future mailings and we will honor your request.  You can read more about our privacy policy here.

What about safety and security?

Shopping with us is safe.  We have a secure certificate on this site (SSL), so all of your private data is encrypted.  PayPal is used to process our credit card transactions, and all we see is the address to ship your product.  We have no access to any of your financial information, not even your CC number.  All that is handled by PayPal.

This disk doesn't work!

Ok, before we start troubleshooting, please check a few simple things.  Please go back to the item description and read it carefully.  Did you purchase a DVD and are trying to play it in a CD player?  Did you purchase a DVD containing data and trying to play it in a DVD player attached to your TV?  Also, please try to play the disk in a different computer or player.  Many times, customers can have a bad disk player and not even realize it.  If all else fails, let us know.
