Martin Luther (1483-1546 AD) was once a Roman Catholic monk and studied the Word of God diligently in the monastery. His studies convinced him that many practices of the Roman Catholic Church were indeed unbiblical, leading him to post his "95 theses", statements he wanted to debate within the context of the Catholic Church in order to restore it to truth. The Catholic Church didn't listen, and Martin Luther was excommunicated and became the first "Lutheran."

Remarkably, Martin Luther's "Commentary on Galatians" remains, after almost 500 years, one of the premier proponents for the decidedly anti-Catholic doctrine of justification by faith in Christ alone. Galatians was Luther's favorite book, and it was crucial to his understanding of the gospel.

Luther was convinced that:

1. God justifies a person (declares him "not guilty" and acquits him) by faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by works
2. That every believer has direct access to God apart from any human intervention
3. The Bible is the only source of true authority on matters of faith and life.

Luther's Commentary on Galatians is truly one of the best ways to get a broad yet concise understanding of the doctrine of justification by faith alone (sola fide). Martin Luther explains the Book of Galatians with a boldness of insight and power of spirit that simply cannot be found in today's "commentary-ettes". Luther is not at all concerned with the "politically incorrect" discussions of 'difficult' passages, nor does he employ the use of "scriptural gymnastics" to twist the words into something they do not mean. From the very first page Luther cuts to the chase in dealing with the teachings of Paul's Epistle, and his bold words and plain-sense explanations result in a work filled with much of the same force and spiritual passion that defined Galatians itself. If you are looking for a modern, critical commentary or greek-based exegesis then you will be sorely disappointed...however if you are seeking a bold, truthful explanation that doesn't pull any punches, you will be richly rewarded.

Hard cover versions of these works have sold for 10 times or more the cost of this disk.  With our CD, you can read, study, and print out the pages as many times as you want.
