History of the Phonograph,
Wurlitzer Films on DVD!
An original production published by
The Classic Archives! |
| Today, we have DVD's and
MP3's and CD's and streaming music and all sorts of new and
exciting things. Before all that, there was good 'ole
fashioned vinyl records. While generally considering
to be obsolete by today's standards, some audiophiles still
swear by records and that sound out of a record is still
superior to today's digital music.
This rare collection goes back and takes
a look at record technology from birth to manufacture.
You'll learn how they developed and made records and how
sound comes out of a record. We'll even explore how
tapes and 4-tracks were born. Finally, we also visit
the Wurlitzer factory, that shows you how coin operated
phonographs were made.
This DVD contains a fully interactive
menu and runs almost 2 hours. A list of films included
is as follows: |
| Command Performance
(1942) How shellac
records were produced and manufactured. The phonograph at
the end of this film is one of those "Magic Eye" units that
plays both sides of the record-having two tone arms.. one
above the other. A marvel to read about and to see.
