| The historically
important Stillman Fires collection is rare footage of
fireman training and public education films from over half a
century ago, some are even from the early 1900's. The Stillman Fires is
one of the largest most renowned fire film
collections in the world. Most of the footage is silent
due to its age. These films have been remastered and
put on DVD for your eternal keeping.
What is striking to me watching this
footage, is the shots of the turn of the century Manhattan.
Even though the films are silent, and many are in high
speed, you still see the fire engines running down the
streets of Manhattan almost a hundred years ago and it
really feels like you are looking at a snapshot in time.
This is a must have collection for any fire lover, or
fireman in your life. Great for educators, students,
and scholars alike.
