Learn how to speak Igbo
Igbo is the principal native
language of the Igbo people, an ethnic group of southeastern
Nigeria. There are approximately 24 million speakers, who
live mostly in Nigeria and are primarily of Igbo descent.
Igbo is written in the Latin script, which was introduced by
British colonialists.
This foreign
language course was developed by The Foreign Services
institute. It is meant to be used as a crash course in
a foreign language for basic conversational ability by a
foreign traveler or diplomat. It is an introductory
course meant for beginners and includes basic conversational
language by native speakers.
This course
consists of 64 lessons in mp3 format, with 2 student texts
in PDF format of over 500 pages. Adobe Reader is
required to view the PDF files, while the mp3 files can be
listened to by any audio player on your PC.
