Whether you are
an illustrator, designer, web designer or just someone who
needs to create some vector imagery, Inkscape is for you!
Both the MAC and
PC installation files are included on this CD, so if you
have both computers, why buy 2 disks?
If you are
thinking about investing in a high end, name brand
illustration software, then you should
know that all of these large
corporations that make professional grade software are
switching pricing models to a subscription based model.
It is no longer enough to just pay one high price to use
their software, now you have to pay a high price EVERY YEAR
and continue to pay it as long as you want that software to
work. And if you stop paying, you can no longer access
the files you created until you cough up more money.
We think that is absurd and criminal. Fire the big
giants, and go with this type of software. Low priced,
but fully featured. This is the full version of
Inkscape, the professional vector graphics illustrator, this is not
trial or limited in anyway.
Inkscape is a vector
graphics editor; it can be used to create or edit vector
graphics such as illustrations, diagrams, line arts,
charts, logos and complex paintings. Inkscape's primary
vector graphics format is Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG),
however many other formats can be imported and exported.
Inkscape can render primitive vector shapes (e.g.
rectangles, ellipses, polygons, arcs, spirals, stars and
3D boxes) and text. These objects may be filled with
solid colors, patterns, radial or linear color gradients
and their borders may be stroked, both with adjustable
transparency. Embedding and optional tracing of raster
graphicss is also supported, enabling the editor to
create vector graphics from photos and other raster
sources. Created shapes can be further manipulated with
transformations, such as moving, rotating, scaling and
skewing.
Features:
Object creation
-
Drawing: pencil
tool (freehand drawing with simple paths), pen tool
(creating Bézier curves and straight lines),
calligraphy tool (freehand drawing using filled
paths representing calligraphic strokes)
-
Shape tools:
rectangles (may have rounded corners), ellipses
(includes circles, arcs, segments), stars/polygons
(can be rounded and/or randomized), spirals
-
Text tool
(multi-line text, full on-canvas editing)
-
Embedded bitmaps
(with a command to create and embed bitmaps of
selected objects)
-
Clones ("live"
linked copies of objects), including a tool to
create patterns and arrangements of clones
Object manipulation
-
Transformations
(moving, scaling, rotating, skewing), both
interactively and by specifying exact numeric values
-
Z-order
operations (raising and lowering)
-
Grouping objects
("select in group" without ungrouping, or "enter the
group" making it a temporary layer)
-
Layers (lock
and/or hide individual layers, rearrange them, etc;
layers can form a hierarchical tree)

Alignment and
distribution commands
